Hey! Guess what!? E3 is coming! With E3 means crazy announcements, uncomfortable performances and awkward celebrity appearances. With all that out of the way we expect news on games. Obviously we expect games like Call of Duty or a new Mario title, but what about games that we wouldn’t expect but want. We’ve been here before in 2010 and 2011 (where most game in 2010 did end up coming out eventually). So let’s see what Top Ten Games should be announced at E3 2012 (but most likely won’t).

10.Twisted Metal Vita

With the “meh” release of Twisted Metal and this whole “cross-platforming” gaming experience; what would be a better game to show off on the Vita than a Twisted Metal title? And I’m not talking about a port of the game but a new game. Twisted Metal on the PSP was, in my opinion, a great title in the series. Now able to play new storylines with the ability to jump online and face those on the PS3…mmm twisted. How about having more characters? In fact the PSP version has the twisted character we all know and love/hate. Twisted Metal IS a multiplayer game and being able to play those online and offline would be fantastic push that the game needs…assuming the servers aren’t down…haha…zing!

9.Vectorman 3-3DS

If there is one game from the Genesis era that absolutely blew my mind back in the day, it was Vectorman. It looked fabulous, it had a kickass soundtrack and it played very well. Hell, it was hard too. So hard that there was a contest up for grabs. Then the sequel came out with more things for Vectorman to transform into, with bugs that change his color, and rollerskates that used blast processing! And then…then…nothing! No sequel. Games can’t just stop at 2! It seems that the threequels are kicking in now with Diablo 3 and Max Payne 3, how about a Vectorman 3…on the 3DS? Picture it looking like Contra 4 on the Nintendo DS. You don’t have to go crazy with it, just make a fun sidescrolling game with some 3D gimmicks, I mean the original had 3D gimmicks anyways.

8.Splatterhouse 2

I don’t understand why other sites think so badly about Splatterhouse but we loved it I’m not exactly sure what happened here. It wasn’t perfect–by any means. But it was fun. It has shown up in many of our top tens and we actually enjoyed the remake. A lot of people did actually. The game had crazy load times but it was entertaining as hell. It was bloody delicious and the characters were likeable, in an unlikable sort of way. The ending had a cliff-hanger (which is always a bad idea) and boom! After terrible reviews the game bombed, quickly making its mark in the Wal-Mart bin. This is offensive because I’ve played a lot of real terrible games that got sequels (Ninety Nine Knights) but yet we will never get to continue Splatterhouse. They can fix a lot of things while expanding the story, maybe a multiplayer? Like a horde mode? Give us a sequel Namco! Hell, the game even gave you more bang for your buck by giving you the original 3 Splatterhouse games. FOR FREE!

7.Sonic Generations 2

Sega, Sega, Sega….SE-GA! What are you doing? All these years we’ve been asking for a 2D Sonic game and you’ve given us nothing but 3D games. Then you tease us with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. This was decent. Then, after a lot of teasing you release Sonic Generations. A game where the 2D and 3D Sonic stages were fun (not all 3D but most). After a celebration of Sonic’s 20th anniversary. So we all enjoy it! No matter what console it came out on. It had a fun storyline, it poked fun at itself with its ridiculous characters, the music and graphics were fantastic and it had a lot of replay value! So you’re not making another one? What the hell? Do you fear success? Do you fear money? Why focus on more Sonic games when you had a great Sonic title that pretty much everyone agreed on? Here’s hoping that this was a joke and Sonic Generations 2 gets a sequel where you can play as Knuckles too. Sidenote Sega we hate every character in the Sonic universe except Tails, Metal Sonic and Knuckles. We like knuckles! Make him playable.

6.Bayonetta 2

We know this game was recently cancelled but what if the game was cancelled but the series continues? It doesn’t even have to be called Bayonetta 2. It’ll be a new story arc from a different perspective. A new witch if you will. With a lot of game references to boot (seriously the Outrun music made me smile). Bayonetta is one the freshest, new IP’s that played like Devil May Cry but was more entertaining, mostly because it didn’t take itself so damn serious. It had great minigames too, and the characters were also likeable, even the fake Joe Pesci character. For this series not to continue is just silly, we need a fun hack and slash title with an uncomfortable long female lead. We need Bayonetta 2!

5.Mirror’s Edge 2

Here’s another game that featured a female lead that also got canned.A unique game with a “meh” execution. The first half of the game was immerse while the other half with the shooting wasn’t. We know this title has been cancelled as well but the reason to have a sequel is to expand and improve on the original gameplay. This wouldn’t be a big issue if the original gameplay didn’t slap you upside the head because of how great it was! It was great to be able to “Free Run” from a first person perspective, and it had some moments where you literally had to stop and look around to make sure you knew how to jump into a vent without any aids. The future was also clean for once and sure the story was lacking but you can do so much better. I’m not calling the games industry sexist but I will if that means they’ll feel bad and give us Mirror’s Edge 2.

4.Manhunt 3

Manhunt was a terrifically gruesome game. Even the manual scared the hell out of me. With all the unique items you can use to kill foes, and by unique I mean everyday household objects. Shard of glass and a plastic bag…a plastic bag! Manhunt 2 was out on the Wii (of all things) and lets you mimic the kills, which on itself, was a great feature. The game was censored because–I don’t know. But it wasn’t quite as good. Now what we need before the PlayStation 3 bows its head is a Manhunt 3 on the PlayStation 3, uncensored, in HD and did somebody say move controls? No? Well you just made this awkward. Don’t make it a necessity but rather an option. Make it compatible but focus on the controls and style of the first one. Or even better, let’s see what the Kinect is capable of. We don’t really play the games for the story, but rather the three different options to kill someone, Brutal, Brutaller, and Brutaler-aler (???). Whatever, it would be a sleeper hit since Grand Theft Auto V is on it’s way but it would be a great way to get our fix.

3.Portal 3

After the huge success of Portal, Portal 2 was an even bigger success. In fact some would call it the top game of 2011. If you haven’t already played Portal 2spoilers!

While playing Portal 2 towards the end there might have been something that stood out…just a peek of space. A little portal on the moon opened the world to new ideas. Portal 3 can be the revenge of Wheatley creating his own universe somehow (aliens?) and where the original Portal introduced us to the portal gun, Portal 2 introduced us to the different oozes (bounce, speed etc…) Portal 3 can play around with gravity. How? Hell if I know. But having your portals float in the air as opposed to inanimate objects opens a whole new world. By world we mean planet. Seriously, imagine if the puzzles have you shooting portals onto asteroids floating in space, don’t ask me how she can breathe or why she’s even there, it’s just an idea.

2.Super Mario RPG 2

I’ve never owned an SNES, but Rooster did. There was one game that we played the hell out of: Super Mario RPG. We know that Square and Nintendo had a little bit of fallout before the Nintendo 64 came out but, really, what are you my mother? Get over it and make some great games! They did. and the games they made were Fortune Street and Mario Hoops 3-on-3…yeah, about that how about a game people actually want? Super Mario RPG 2 would be perfect for the Nintendo 3DS. You can have magic and attacks pop out of the screen and make the characters cell-shaded. Add in some more characters from the Mario franchise like Wario and Luigi and hell, bring back Mallow and Gino, I miss those guys. If this would be announced on the 3DS heads will explode. It would be a perfect fit and it has been a long time for this original title to get a sequel.

1.Eternal Darkness 2

Now here’s a game I think everyone can agree on. I haven’t even played the original but would be excited if the announced that a part 2 was in development. The insanity meter made you pretty much go crazy, having what you think is save data become corrupted to heads randomly falling off Eternal Darkness played with it all. You can do so much more especially with the technology we have now. What else would make this game perfect is if you announced it in the Wii U! It would not only drive sales but be a great release title for the console. You can play with the tablet in ways we would never have expected. You can add more insanity and this time in HD, Somehow you can include the 3DS to be the controller just to mess with you and if you want to complete the game you have to own a 3DS, marketing genius I tell you! I don’t even know what the story is in Eternal Darkness but love the ideas of games literally screwing with you. That’s why I loved Metal Gear Solid and Arkham Asylum. That’s the power of this game, I never played the original but would love a sequel. Below is a video of all the ways the game screws with you, if you intend to play the original don’t watch it because it is covered in spoilers, but if you want to see why this game would be so important watch the video below.
