There’s no disguising the fact this isn’t a horror series anymore. A series with horror elements in the same sense as Bioshock perhaps but not an actual horror series.
While the first two games were certainly criticized for the amount of bullets and weapons you had to mow down space zombies, there was often at least this attempt to have horror moments. Dead Space 3 doesn’t even bother with that and at the end of the day it’s closer to Borderlands in some respects than the previous games. But does that make it bad? Far from it.
This week on the ParaNerds Podcast, the nerds speak about Batman:Arkham City, Arkham City Lockdown and Minecraft. They also go over NEWS (see below) and read some fan mail. Being a slow week the duo go over some of the best and worst gaming music but unfortunately is cut short due to a bad cut to Kevin’s thumb (image can be seen: warning pretty gory) .
I told you we’d be back. So now, yet another giant that has nothing to do with peddling a major console is done with their main presentation. Let’s talk about it. Luckily enough, there weren’t a lot of that “Entertainment, not gaming” that Microsoft went for so it made for an overall exciting press conference.
