Over the years we have seen video games come and go, and we all remember them. How do we remember them? Usually by name. If a system had a a strong name chances are you heard of it and most likely bought it or the very least heard of it. Looking back at the video game consoles that came out it’s interesting to see some of the names that were associated with them. Some were great some were awful.  The names that were really strong, the names that stuck with you or even the names that explained what the console was are all example of good console names. Here are the Top Twenty Best Console Names.

Note: Remember this is only based on the names of the consoles, not the hardware or games that came with it.

Wii-U-Logo

I have owned the Wii U for less than a year and although I am enjoying this system I have to say a couple of things about it. What is it like owning it for less than a year? What have I enjoyed about it? What didn’t l like about it? Here are the Pros and Cons of the…

wii u bad

Whoa, hold on, what the hell gamers? Yeah, I’m talking to you. Nintendo seems to be doing…erm…not so well, and maybe it’s because they didn’t take our suggestions of what can save the Wii U, most likely not. Now, we know this isn’t the first time Nintendo has been in trouble (see the GameCube, Virtual Boy, DS, 3DS) but this is the first time that the gamers are saying “good riddance”.

Originally released in 1991, Toejam and Earl were the original Hip-Hopping, funky-aliens. A sort of underwhelming game back in the day gets re-released on Xbox live arcade, not just one but two games, ToeJam & Earl and Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron. With some changes made and the re-release on XBLA is it as good as you remember or does this collection deserve to phone home?

Also they both talk about some of the best controllers from 1977 to 1981 and also speak about Video games and Society Part 2.

Make Sure to visit Nintendolegend.com because it is one year old and it’s super awesome.

People seem to forget that controllers are usually the hit or breaking point of a video game console. From having something as simple as a pause menu to something else like a D-pad. I feel like taking some time to talk about some of the best and worst controllers and comparing them to what was out at the time. We’ll be going by generation and comparing all  the controllers of the MAJOR consoles (Sorry Jaguar fans).

With what seems to be a million peripherals on consoles these days it’s hard to forget that these things are not necessarily new. Sure some of them today may seem very innovated and unique but we seem to forget that the following peripherals have been attempted before. Most, if not, all of these products have been tried before and failed or just didn’t have a big enough bang. Either because the technology wasn’t there yet or the market wasn’t  ready for such nonsense . Like hipsters wearing clothing from the 70’s all this has been done before. Such as…

With all the problems the PlayStation 3 has been ensuring as of now I thought we can look at the positive things of this generations consoles.
People have been moaning about a lot of different things (myself included) about any lags via online of even the Nintendo’s friend codes. People are unhappy with the storage space on the Nintendo Wii and people are unhappy with some of the prices on Xbox live. The PSP is considered a joke and the Nintendo 3DS does not have a big line up. But some things this generations of consoles do offer, are pretty intuitive and we can’t imagine living without them now such as:
